The purpose and goal of our class is to help students to develop and grow their God-given gift to teach the Bible.  Students will learn through lecture, discussion, reading, and most importantly through practical opportunities in which the student will teach assigned Scriptures to the assembled class.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will:

  1. Possess greater confidence in one’s call and gifting to teach the Bible.
  2. Understand how to craft a sermon from one’s inductive study of Biblical texts.
  3. Learn various techniques for engaging the audience, clearly communicating the truths recorded in Scripture, and applying the truths taught to the lives of the audience.
  4. Introduction to the many helpful study tools to enhance the quality and depth of one’s teaching (eg. language helps, cultural and historical context, etc.)
